Nominations are invited for the Australasian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS) 2011 Doctoral Consortium. The Consortium provides a unique opportunity for doctoral students in Information Systems to present their research to an audience of peers and senior faculty in a sharing, supportive environment, and participate in a number of plenary sessions with senior Information Systems academics.

Consortium activities commence with Registration and Introductions late afternoon on the Sunday, 27th November, followed by a dinner. Formal events are scheduled to take place all day on the 28th November through mid-afternoon on the 29th November. The consortium dinner will take place on 28th November. All activities are generously sponsored by the Australian Council of Professors and Heads of Information Systems (ACPHIS).

Each of the two main days will focus on providing constructive feedback to students on their research. Students will present their research in small groups; each group will be assisted by two academics. Experienced academics will also participate in practical research-career related plenary sessions.

There is no charge for the consortium, which is sponsored by University of Wollongong and ACPHIS. Home institutions are encouraged to provide financial assistance to successful nominees in the form of travel and accommodation expenses. Limited low-cost accommodation is available, details of which will be provided on acceptance.

Please note: all accepted students to the Consortium are strongly encouraged to attend the ACIS 2011 conference which immediately follows the Consortium. Students will receive a substantially reduced registration rate for the conference. The registration fee will include attendance at all conference sessions and exhibits, conference lunches/refreshment breaks.

The ACIS 2011 Doctoral Consortium is co-chaired by; Associate Prof. Peter Hyland (University of Wollongong), Dr Wasana Bandara (Queensland University of Technology), and Dr Kai Riemer (University of Sydney). Please contact Peter Hyland if you have any queries about the Doctoral Consortium.
